Laurie Rippon

Executive Director

Laurie has owned One Broadway since 2004, but she has a deep connection to the studio, dance and the arts in general. Growing up in Hershey, the former Laurie Longenecker was friends with Wendy Watson, whose mother, Nancy, founded One Broadway. Laurie remembers dancing and cheering in
the Watsons’ basement.

She was the volunteer coordinator of the Hershey youth cheerleading program, also serving as head coach and choreographer for the midget squad. She has judged area
high school cheering competitions and cheerleader tryouts.

Both of her daughters have danced at One Broadway for years. Prior to buying One Broadway, Laurie was a “dance mom” who volunteered at the studio for nine years and worked backstage during Tappin’. As Executive Director, Laurie enjoys being the creative force behind the scenes of One Broadway.

Sherry Allwein
Artistic Director/Ballet and Pointe Director

Sherry, who joined One Broadway in 1999, places a strong emphasis on technique, giving students a solid foundation for
all dance forms. Her teaching combines classical ballet style with contemporary music. As a young ballerina, Sherry attended American Ballet Theatre and Youskevitch School of Ballet.
After graduating from the Professional Children’s School in
New York, she became an apprentice and company member with the American Ballet Theatre. Her career evolved into
other forms of dance, and she became a featured dance
soloist performing in productions by the likes of James
Starbuck, Augie and Margo Rodriguez, Joe Cavalier, Dave Michaels, Herb Pailoff and Ken Hill.

Jennifer Firestine

She first learned dance from her mother before continuing her education under the tutelage of One Broadway founder Nancy Watson and her daughter, Wendy Watson-Kristich. She studied in New York City, danced for Hersheypark and MTV, and performed as a Philadelphia Eagles cheerleader.

Megan Garrett

An original One Broadway alumna, the former Megan Edwards is a tap instructor for elementary students. She studied tap, jazz, ballet and pointe under Nancy Watson, Wendy Watson-Kristich and Bethe Nardis and was one of the first tap/ballet assistant teachers. Megan graduated from Bloomsburg University, where she completed courses in modern and creative dance. She has choreographed high school dance teams and cheerleading squads and Miss Teen Pennsylvania pageant contestants.

Diane Peters
Hip-Hop and OB Babies Instructor

Diane started dancing at age 4 and hasn’t stood still since. As a young dancer, she performed in musicals. At the University of Missouri, she landed a spot on the school’s renowned Golden Girls dance squad. Upon graduation, she was a cheerleader
for the former St. Louis Cardinals football team.

She took a “break” from dance to get married, have three children and co-author three New York Times best-selling books: “The Customer Comes Second (And Other Secrets of Exceptional Service,” “Good Company: Caring as Fiercely as You Compete,” and “The Customer Comes Second: Put Your People First and Watch ‘em Kick Butt.” She was drawn back
into dance through her involvement, with One Broadway owner Laurie Rippon, as a choreographer and coach for the Hershey youth cheerleading program.
